For Spring 2009, Coppley's youthful evolution in clothing is advanced by styling and an innovative new make that broadens our appeal across all segments of the market. The colour palette is decidedly soft and natural, with ecru, dove grey, tan and indigo blue grounds that are prominent in all clothing categories. The style direction is understated versions of soft plaids, stripes and herringbones with accents of lavender, mocha and soft pink.
The fabric offering for Spring 2009 is luxurious and sophisticated, presenting characteristics that raise the bar on look and feel. In addition to summer weight wools, we have selected fine blends and nontraditional fabrics for suits and sport coats. Pure silk can be found on its own in sports jackets, or woven with cashmere and linen. Pure cottons and performance blends of cotton with linen and silk are also prominent. Both silk-linen and wool-silk fabrics are featured in Coppley's essential Spring 2009 sport coats.
Our suit offering features summer weight super 120s wool as well as youthful pure cottons. Wool blends with linen and lycra, and with silk, offer buyers a summer attitude. Europe's finest mills, such prestigious names as Ermenegildo Zegna, Barberis, Reda and Loro Piana make up a prominent showing in the Coppley Collection.
While the look reflects the preferences of the youthful buyer, styling and make are as enticing to the 55-year-old as they are for the 35-year-old. Features such as crested pockets and framed edges on slim-line sports coats, accentuate youthful taste in a relaxed, unconstructed make. Suit modeling's include a slimmer silhouette with a lower button stance, while advanced tailoring innovations preserve Coppley's legendary versatility across a wide range of body types. We have been able to accomplish this marriage of youthful slimness and overall comfort with the assistance of a highly respected Italian master tailor who has helped us transform and refine our garment offering for the new season. Our new "sartorial" make includes a number of refinements such as:
- a one-piece collar with softer, more supple under collar;
- handworked and underpressed shoulder and chest construction with more handpressing in the moulding of the shoulder and chest area;
- the addition of Bemberg® lining on patch pockets;
- and cross-stitched buttons for a more defined look.
We are proud and excited to bring you these exceptional, refreshing trend-setting garments for Spring 2009. We are confident that the Coppley Collection will generate excitement among traditional customers and will attract a whole new audience of youthful buyers.
